The Silver Crescent Foundation and South Carolina Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce the nominations process for the Silver Crescent Manufacturer of the Year award is now open, and manufacturers may access information on the award criteria and nomination process on the Chamber’s web site – www.scchamber.net. The deadline for entries is Friday, June 11, 2010, at 5:00 p.m.The state’s top small, medium and large manufacturing companies will be recognized for their manufacturing excellence, economic impact, commitment to workforce development and community stewardship during the Salute to Manufacturing awards luncheon, scheduled for Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Columbia. The Salute to Manufacturing is South Carolina’s premier manufacturing recognition event, and in 2009, Packaging Corporation of America, Sandvik-Valenite and Alcoa were winners of the annual manufacturing excellence awards competition. In addition to the awards luncheon, this year’s Salute will include an educational forum highlighting manufacturing’s support of education and future workforce development in South Carolina. Participants will learn about best practices and available resources to encourage interest and support in building manufacturing’s future workforce. This is the second year the Foundation and Chamber have teamed up to co-host this annual celebration of manufacturing excellence in South Carolina.
