Hub Cycle is a program of Partners for Active Living designed to increase the
availability of and access to bicycles in Spartanburg. Through this program,
we hope to increase the number of people using bicycles for transportation
and recreation, and the number of trips taken by bike in Spartanburg County.
How does it work?
Partners for Active Living accepts donations of new or used bicycles for the
program. Hub Cycle relies heavily on volunteers for bike maintenance and repair.
Supporters are encouraged to join us during the regular workshop hours, and you can help!The used bicycles are repaired to safe and ride-able condition by by Lead Mechanic, Miguel Espina, who has more than 12 years as a professional bike mechanic and bike store manager. Hub Cycle can always use volunteers for bike maintenance and repair. Supporters are invited to join during the regular workshop hours, 9AM-5PM. Once ready for use, the bikes are made available to the public for free, long-term lending. Once ready for use, the bikes are made available to the public for free, long-term lending. Bicycles of Hub Cycle can be borrowed for a period of up to 3 months (or 90 days) and a helmet and lock are included with each bike. A minimal deposit ($15) is required and will be returned in full when the bike is returned.
